What A Week

SCARLETT...
Scarlett and I were hanging out in the living room last Wednesday. I stepped away for a few seconds to go use the restroom. This is what I came back to...

Scarlett had pulled over the artificial tree AND pulled out the moss! Don't you just love how she is straddling my poor tree?! She was really going at it!

Busted and trying to make a run for it! Sorry about my finger. I was rushing and trying to get a picture of her before she got away.

Screaming bloody murder after I "sent" her to her room so that I could clean up the mess.

After I was done cleaning up the tree mess, I went for Scarlett. I put her in her crib for a nap and walked away. After screaming for another 5 minutes, she was quiet. When I went in to check on her, I found her fast asleep.

The little stinker!

ELIZABETH...
The 4th graders have been working on the 4th grade musical all year long. Feb. 25th finally came and Happy Trails was quite the production. Liz didn't have a speaking part but she danced her little heart out!

Liz, Faith, Brooke (I think), & Scarlett. The girls wanted to take a picture with Scarlett. Makeup was applied to the kids faces since the production was being filmed.

After we got home, Liz wanted to take more pictures.

Liz wanted Scarlett to try on her hat. We thought Scarlett was cute. Scarlett wasn't interested and wanted the hat off!

JEREMIAH...
About an hour after we got home from the musical, J called and said that he was in an accident. He said that the police were on their way and he would get home as soon as they were done. About an hour after that, he got home and this is what pulled into the garage...

Here's what happened. Apparently, J was driving down the highway coming home around 9PM. There was a white honda accord driving next to J. In front of the accord was another car that slammed on the brakes. To avoid hitting the car in front of the accord, the accord moved over and rammed J on the passenger side. The accord goes off the road. J is doing a 360 ON THE HIGHWAY...almost coming to a stop...then a black accord hit his front end!

My favorite part of the story, the guy had been drinking! What is with us being involved with drunk drivers?! HONESTLY!!! Anyway, Jeremiah suspects that the car that slammed on the brakes was cut off or something by the white accord. So to get even, that person got in front the white accord and slammed on the brakes. Road rage jerk. Since Mr. White Accord was under the influence, his reflexes were not quick enough to check the lane next to him BEFORE he moved over.

Wait! That's not my favorite part of the story. My FAVORITE part of the story was that the police let this guy drive off! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Apparently, this guy wasn't drunk enough to be hauled off to jail.

Jeremiah wasn't injured and he says that he feels fine. Hopefully, he won't feel any pain in the future. By the way, remember the black accord that hit his front end? She was hit by another car and had to go to the hospital. She's alive but J said her head and face were messed up pretty bad.

GWEN...
On a lighter note, my b-day month starts tomorrow, yay! I'm not sure what I want to do but I'll come up with something. Maybe I'll get my hair cut. I really want a new cookware set. Any recommendations? Currently, I'm considering Anolon, KitchenAid, & Calphalon.

When I'm done getting over the fact that Jeremiah could have died last week, maybe I'll be in a more festive mood. For now, I'm glad that the good Lord spared him.

BACK TO SCARLETT...
Scarlett took her first steps today, DOUBLE YAY! The best part about it, my parents were here to see it. They were sooooo excited! All of us were! Scarlett took several steps before I made this video. By the time I took out the camera, I think she was a little tired and was only taking 1 or 2 steps. She's been standing for a few weeks and finally took steps today! Check her out...

That's all for now. I can't wait to see what this week will bring. Y'all have a great week!

It's Snow Time

The snow really started coming down a few hours after my last post. After I picked Liz up from school, I came home to a house with no power. Luckily, Jeremiah got off work early and arrived shortly after we did. With all of the excitement that he could muster up, he informed Liz that they were going to play in the snow. What started out as a snowman ended up a snow castle.

Snowman in progress. Unfortunately, the snowman was never completed. After realizing that there were a few snowmen on the street, these two decided to get creative.

Here's the snow castle all finished!

Believe it or not, it really was kind of cool!

Here's a shot from the entrance looking in. Jeremiah took all of these pics...y'all know that I have a low tolerance level for the cold! I wasn't about to take these pics by myself!

Here's another angle of it.

Here's Jeremiah inside the castle. Yes, he really did fit inside of it. Only my Prickett's!

From the inside looking out.

Scarlett and I didn't get in on the snow castle action. We hung out in the garage for a few minutes to watch Liz and Jeremiah. That was fine with us!

After a few hours, I had a strong feeling that the power was not coming back on. I called my mother and warned her that we might be coming over. She said fine and to come on over. That was about 6:00pm last Thursday, 2/11. Our power didn't come back on until 2pm-ish Sunday afternoon.

Over the weekend, my parents were sooooo happy to see Scarlett everyday. They couldn't get enough of her. More importantly, I enjoyed the rest. I love my baby girl and all but a break from her is nice every once in a while. All of us watched a tv program on BET featuring Michael Jackson and they played quite a few videos of his #1 hits. That was SO fun!!! Ah, the MJ memories :o)

Anyway, life is back to normal. Jeremiah bought a generator because he wants to be prepared the next time the electricity goes out. We also lost power last summer because of a storm. I think he's done with putting his trust in electric companies. I can't blame him for that. Elizabeth and Scarlett didn't appear to be bothered that we were not in the comfort of our own home, THANK GOODNESS! So, thanks mommy and daddy for providing us with food and shelter during the storm. Love ya!!!

I Heart TX Snow!

As expected, I woke up to snow this morning. At least I wasn't in Utah!!! Just like every morning, I packed up the girls so that I could take Liz to school. Liz was so happy that it was snowing. Believe it or not, I was too. Sort of. I was just glad that it was TX snow and not UT snow. There are two things about TX snow that I am so grateful for. #1, it will be gone in a day or two. #2, I can still see and feel my feet in the snow! After spending a week in UT snow, I will never complain about TX snow AGAIN!

Snow boots not required :o)

Intruder

Scarlett has made herself extremely comfortable in the kitchen lately. So we finally decided to child proof our lower cabinets. As you will see, that didn't work out too well. What 10 month old baby has the ability to break into a "child proof" cabinet?! Only my child. When J came home for lunch, he re-adjusted the "locks" and Scarlett hasn't been able to get into the cabinets again. I took these before J came home. KIDS!

Here she is just going to town.

Busted!

She didn't care that she was busted. She made herself more comfortable and continued to dig!

Here she is in the process of standing up to reach for things that were out of her reach when she was sitting down! The little intruder!!!
