My "New" Wedding Ring & Flowers From Liz

My "New" Wedding Ring

A few weeks ago I noticed that my wedding ring was fitting a little tight. As time went on, I noticed that it was fitting tighter and tighter. It was difficult to put on and take off. For a day or so I went without wearing it. At the risk of offending someone, it just felt wrong to be pregnant and not wear a wedding ring! Being frustrated with other pregnancy woes, I called Diana to vent and told her about my latest wedding ring dilemma. Her solution: find a ring that I can wear as my temporary wedding ring. I looked in my jewelry box and I found this sterling silver ring. It fits perfectly. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I use to wear it on my thumb back in the day. Anyway, problem solved. I feel wholesome again :o)

I thought about wearing my wedding ring around my neck but I would die if the chain broke and I lost my wedding ring. I've grown quite attached to it! I'll just keep it in my jewelry box until I can wear it again. I might try to sneak it on for Sunday's...we'll see :o)

Here's my "new" ring.

Flowers From Liz

The weather on Monday and Tuesday was quite pleasant so I walked to the school to pick Liz up. When I met her, she gave me some flowers. How sweet is that?! Then the following conversation happened.

Me: Hi Liz! How was school today?
Liz: I got you some flowers!!
Me: Thank you sweetheart! That is so sweet of you!! What made you get me flowers?
Liz: Since Baby Prickett was hurting you, I was hoping that the flowers would cheer you up.

How sweet was that?! Just to put a little light on the subject, I may have mentioned that Baby Prickett has made my life a little more than uncomfortable lately. She has discovered my ribs...need I say more.

I'm holding the flowers and Liz tried to make a heart with her fingers so that the flowers could be inside her heart but it never really worked. The thought was priceless and at least I'll have this memory forever.

Happy Birthday Jeremiah!

Yesterday (March 17th) was Jeremiah's birthday, yay! He's another year older and another year wiser. His co-workers took him to Olive Garden for lunch and he said that he really enjoyed that. When he got home, he relaxed for a few minutes and then we headed out to Spaghetti Warehouse for his birthday dinner! We had such a nice time!!

While we were packing up our leftovers, the waiters and waitresses came out of nowhere and started singing happy birthday to Jeremiah. The camera was in my purse and by the time I pulled it out, turned it on, took this picture of J's reaction...the birthday song was well underway.

Jeremiah's reaction when the staff invaded our table and started singing happy birthday.

Unfortunately, the video isn't much because everything happened so fast. I didn't hear the staff coming until they were 2ft from our table. By the time I started recording, the song was pretty much finished.

Here he is goofing off in front of the camera as usual. As long as he is happy, I am happy :o)

Here we are after dinner. Full as can be and can barely walk!

After we got home, I gave him his birthday gift and we ended the evening watching American Idol. All in all, he said he had a good birthday this year and I am so glad that he did. Look at his smile. Happy birthday J...I LOVE YOU!!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

March 11 was my birthday, YAY!!! For the 1st time in YEARS it was extremely low key. Usually, I celebrate the entire month of March. This year, being pregnant and all, I just didn't have the energy to keep up with myself. Anyway, I just want to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone who called, sent an e-card, sent an email or text message to wish me happy birthday! I felt so loved :o)

I started the day off by going to the dentist for my semi-annual cleaning. I am happy to report that I got a clean bill of health, woo hoo! No cavities, no worries, and no issues. We love good news. I got a pat on the back and a "keep up the good work Mrs. Prickett"! You know what irritates me after I get my teeth clean? They are so smooth, so clean, and feel so good that I don't want to eat anything to get them dirty. Is that weird? Usually, I get over that feeling pretty quick because I am starving and need to eat. Having said that, after my appt I trotted my happy little self over to McDonald's for lunch. Love those chicken nuggets!

After McDonald's, I went to Best Buy and treated myself to a new cell phone. So far I love it! It is a Samsung Propel slider phone. For me, the best feature about the phone is the qwerty keyboard. It makes texting SO much faster! The fact that it is white makes it easier to find it in my purse too. I'm looking forward to the next 2 years with my new toy!
After Best Buy, it wasn't long before Liz was to get out of school. So, I picked her up and convinced Jeremiah to bring home Chicken Express for dinner. Wed's are so packed for us and cooking on a Wed is truly a chore. Actually, Tue and Thu are the worst days. Before I start to digress, all I knew is that it was my birthday and I should not have to cook. Can you blame me? We didn't have time to go eat out because Liz needed to be at church at 7. And that is how I ended the day, by taking Liz to church that night.

Now, that brings us to today, March 17...Jeremiah's birthday! Happy birthday sweetheart!!!

WHERE'S THAT EPIDURAL?!

Last Saturday, 3/7, Jeremiah and I attended a "child preparedness class". Apparently, they are not called lamaze classes anymore. Toward the end of the class, the nurse wanted to emphasise how important it is for the partner to encourage/coach the mother-to-be during the childbirth process.

Having said that, part of the excercise was for the mother-to-be and her coach to reverse rolls. So I became the coach and Jeremiah became the mother-to-be. To get a small glimpse of what pain the mother will go through, the guys had to pick up some ice and hold it in their hand for a period of time. They couldn't put it down until the nurse told them to. Apparently, the longer you hold the ice, the more painful it becomes to the hand. Jeremiah was the 1st one to say "I can do this without ANY drugs". Well, the excercise began and after a few short moments, what did my sweet husband say..."WHERE'S THAT EPIDURAL?!" It was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing at him. I think he has a new appreciation for me wanting to use an epidural :o)

Caring For Baby Prickett

Remember last week when Jeremiah and I went for another sonogram and the results still indicated that we were having a girl? Well, later that evening we attended an "infant care class". The 1st order of business was finding a baby with the skin tone we wanted. They had black babies, white babies, brown babies & red babies. By the time we had arrived, the only babies left were the white and red babies. We went with the red baby girl. These babies were quite intriguing. They felt heavy just like a real baby and not light like a doll. Here she is in all her glory!

The class consisted of 3 stations: bathing the baby, dressing the baby, and changing the baby's diaper. Here's a picture of the baby after I gave her a bath. By the way, we used real water and real soap and she smelled so good! I bet she slept good that night. Afterwards, Jeremiah dressed her and he did a pretty good job!

It's Still A Girl

Well, we went for another sonogram last Mon, 3/2. Once again, the tech AND the doctor confirmed that Baby Prickett is STILL a girl. They even zoomed in to confirm her girl parts. I think Jeremiah has finally accepted that Baby Prickett is a girl :o)

The doctor said that the baby is currently a little over 4lbs. Expected birth weight is 7 to 7.5lbs. The previous tech that took our previous sono pics did a much better job than the tech that saw us Mon. Hopefully, you can make out the pics.

Unfortunately, this was taken when her legs were wide open. I think the law of chastity should be the 1st thing that we discuss with this young lady!

Here she is laying on the right side of her face looking at us. She appears to be sleeping but I assure you that she is not. She was moving the entire time! Look at the size of that head...holy smoke! Y'all...PRAY FOR ME!!!

Here's the heart. I can't make anything out of this but the tech and the doctor said everything looked normal.

I think she may be laying on her back looking up. Which means that we are looking at the left side of her face. Those lips look WAY out of proportion with her head don't you think??
