Milestone

Last week Scarlett and I were playing on the bed and she rolled over, ALL BY HERSELF! Every since then, Jeremiah has tried to get her to roll over but she just won't do it. Yesterday, Scarlett and I were playing in the floor and she rolled over again. For a moment, she looked like she was going to roll over for a 2nd time in a row. I quickly got up and ran to get the camera so that I could record the moment for Jeremiah. When I got back to the living room, she was on her back and I missed it. Determined to get this event on video, I tried one last time to get her to turn over and she did! Is it normal for a 14 week old baby to turnover?!

Before you look at the video, I apologize in advance for Scarlett's messy hair. After all of the playing we did, I didn't realize how messy Scarlett's hair was until I replayed the video. Otherwise, I would have combed her hair before I started recording. Oh well! The important thing is that I got Scarlett's milestone recorded and Jeremiah was very proud of her :o)

Scarlett's Blessing

Scarlett had the distinct pleasure of being blessed yesterday, yay! Jeremiah did an awesome job! Honestly, I wasn't ready for it to end and he was done right when I was getting into it! I think I even had a tender moment with the Lord. I really wanted to get pictures of everyone after church but somehow we all got seperated. So, Diana ended up taking our pictures in our backyard when we got home.

Scarlett never could sit up in this dress. Every time I propped her up, she slipped right back down. It was so entertaining working with her in a satin dress.

As usual, she was fine until I put something on her head.

After a while, Scarlett decided to give in and give her mother a decent picture with the bonnet on.

After church, everyone came over to our house for dinner. It was packed but we had so much fun! I took pictures, Jeremiah and Scarlett slept, mom and dad cooked dinner, and everyone else played games. July 5th was a good day :o)

Berry (my sis) and my nieces (Taryn, Jacey, and Adia) playing Twister.

T (my bro) and Josh (my bro-in-law) playing Sorry.

Maria, Lennon (my adorable nephew) and Adia playing Connect Four.

Lennon won!

Mom and dad cooking dinner.

Our house was packed! It got really loud and it also got really hot. In the middle of all of the craziness, suddenly I became extremely grateful that I live near my family. Now, it's back to the real world. After not having to cook the entire weekend, I better run and figure out what's for dinner. Y'all have a great week and stay cool. Love ya!

July 4th

July 4th was pretty relaxed and low key this year. My parents and siblings were suppose to come to our house at 10AM for some BBQ. The plan was to eat lunch around noon or noon-thirty. That didn't happen. The night before, my parents bought a new grill and brought it to our house for the BBQ. They were going to assemble it on the 4th...before they started to barbeque.

Well, they arrived at our house around 5:30pm. Mom was going to prepare the food for grilling and dad was going to assemble the grill. Mom was finished preparing the meat and realized that dad still hadn't had the grill assembled. Before I knew it, mom was assembling the grill!

Mom came, mom saw, and mom conquered!

Progress is being made.

WOO HOO! Grill assembled!

The grill was lit! Shortly after this picture, mom had the meat on the grill and dinner was well underway.

What started out being lunch turned into dinner...at 9:30PM. Gotta love the Keeton's! BTW, I have been trying to see a fireworks show for years and something always come up and I never make it to a fireworks show. This year was no different because I still missed the fireworks. Maybe I'll try to make a show next year. At least dinner was good!

Scarlett's Professional Pictures

The morning after Ms. Scarlett got her shots, she was scheduled to get her pictures taken. Here are some pics that I thought y'all would enjoy the most. She was such a little trooper!

These pictures are from the free photo shoot that I received at my baby shower. If you like the pics and are interested in getting your pictures taken, let me know and I will put you in touch with Chantelle...the photographer. We attend church together and she has a studio in her home. She waited very patiently whenever we had to stop so that Scarlett could be fed or get her diaper changed. Thanks for everything Chantelle :o)

Without further ado, enjoy my baby girl!!!
