Dr. Appts.

Every year I try to take Liz to the doctor, dentist, and optometrist before school starts. Doing it this way allows her to not miss any school b/c of doctors appts. Plus, it saves me from the hassle of waiting forever while someone goes and pull her out of class.

Anyway, on August 18th I had to take the girls to the doctor. Liz had a dental appt 1st thing that morning. Unfortunately, she had a few cavities that needed to be taken care of. The dentist gave her some laughing gas and had to numb her mouth. When we were done with that appt, we went home to have lunch until it was time to go to the pediatrician. When we got home, I told her to go brush her teeth so that she could get the rest of the glue out of her mouth. When she tried to rinse her mouth out, she couldn't exactly close her mouth b/c she was numb. As a result, the front of her t-shirt got pretty soaked. In the meantime, Jeremiah came home for lunch. When Jeremiah saw Liz, he asked her what happened to her shirt and she told him. As we proceeded to eat lunch, drinking water became a challenge for Liz. Again, she couldn't close her mouth to swallow and she made a mess all over the table and herself. After a while, we couldn't help ourselves. Jeremiah started laughing and then Liz and I started laughing too. We all bursted out laughing at the same time because she looked so funny! All of this trouble over CAVITIES!!!

This is the best smile that she could give me b/c the entire left side of her mouth was still numb.
Every since her dentist appt, she brushes her teeth 4 or 5 times a day in hopes to prevent getting anymore cavities. I think she has finally learned her lesson about brushing teeth PROPERLY!

Still smiling! Since she was still sore and couldn't open her mouth wide, I made her some chicken noodle soup and she was happy about that.

Later in the afternoon, we were off to the pediatrician. Liz went for her 9 year wellness check and Scarlett for her 4 month shots. Liz did well and Scarlett was AMAZING! Scarlett got 2 shots, 1 in each leg and only cried when she got injected. After the prick, she was good. She only cried for like 10 seconds.

My little chunky monkey! Don't you just love those thighs?! She is such a good baby :o)

Adam-Ondi-Aham & Far West

Liz spent half the summer in MO this year. We drove up there twice to visit her. We went July 24th, 25th and 26th on our 2nd trip. Jeremiah, Scarlett and I went to Adam-Ondi-Aham and Far West. Liz wanted to hang out with her grandparents so we let her. Anyway, here are some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

ADAM-ONDI-AHAM

Here are some pictures from our trip on the 25th. These pictures do not come close to depicting how beautiful this place is. Can I just say that Adam-Ondi-Aham is the most beautiful place ever! Well, I'm biased b/c I love all of the historical church sites. Anyway, the weather was perfect. The thermometer in my car said that it was 85 degrees! It was 12:30 in the afternoon!!!

Here's the welcome sign.

The road to Spring Hill and Tower Hill.

Valley overlook.

Valley overlook. The sky and rolling hills went on FOREVER! Isn't this beautiful?! I think this is one of my favorite pictures. We spent alot of time at the overlook.

I needed evidence that we were actually here :o)

Scarlett needed evidence too :o)

Arriving at Tower Hill.

Tower Hill. I'm not sure why this picture came out so dark. The sky was still blue but there was an overcast in this one spot???

This was cool too. Jeremiah found this incredible view between some bushes.

Scarlett went to sleep on us and I didn't have the heart to wake her up just to take a picture. So, I took one with her in the carseat.

FAR WEST

We went to Far West 2 years ago and took a ton of pictures. Jeremiah saved them to his computer and then the darn thing crashed or something or the other. As a result, he lost all of the pictures. Needless to say, I made Jeremiah drive back to Far West on this trip so that we could take some more pictures at the Far West temple site.

Here's Mr. Man on the phone.

Daddy & Scarlett Bear!

Here we are in front of the monument.

I copied this picture from a website so that you can see it in its entirety. This must have been taken in the winter because there were very green trees all around us.

The one thing that I love about the Far West temple site is the beautiful landscaping. This is right inside the gate after you enter.

The entrance.

Overall, this trip was absolutely wonderful. Scarlett did amazingly well on her very 1st road trip too! Jeremiah wanted to drive and I wanted to fly. After much kicking and screaming...and being the great wife that I am...I sucked it up and drove to MO with my dear sweet husband and a 4 month old baby. Jeremiah did most of the driving and never complained once. He loves road trips. Personally, I HATE road trips!!! I don't mind visiting anywhere or anyone. It's just that I'd rather fly than drive.

I love visiting historical church sites! Not only does my testimony strengthen, but I also gain a new perspective about the gospel. You can read all the books in the world about certain places. But there is nothing like visiting the wonderful places that you read about. J, thanks for a great weekend sweetheart!

She Survived, BARELY!

After I picked Liz up from school, she was extremely talkative and sooooo excited about being in the 4th grade. I told her to put her things away and meet me back in the kitchen so that she could finish telling me all about the 1st day of school. In the meantime, I'm bringing Scarlett in the house and I hear this loud crash. I go to Liz's room and this is what I find...

Poor thing! She dropped all of her things and passed out in the floor!

Here's my question. How is it that kids rarely get homework on the 1st day of school...but the parents get a million forms to sign...that has to be returned the next day?! What is that all about?!

1st Day Of School

Seriously, I can't believe that I haven't posted anything in a month! For a while, I didn't have anything to blog about. Then, the summer just took off and I got insanely busy and couldn't find 5 minutes to blog. Well, I looked at your blogs but I didn't have time to post anything about us. I'll try to update the blog as fast as I can within the next couple of hours or days...whichever comes 1st.

On a more happier note, today is the 1st day of school, YAY!!!!!!!!!! Liz got off to a great start this morning. She is a 4th grader this year and I'm sure that she will do well. Scarlett on the other hand was not amused this morning. She woke up as I was putting her in her car seat to take Liz to school. Jeremiah is also on a new work schedule for a while. Now, he gets to leave early for work and come home early. Over the summer, he left late for work and got home late.

Here are a few pictures that I took of Liz this morning. I wished I would've take a picture of Scarlett too. She gave me this look like "no you did'ent wake me up?!" She never cried but judging by the cold stare that she was giving me, she CLEARLY didn't approve that her sleep was disturbed. Well, here's to a great school year!

Liz wanted to wear her hair down but I was afraid that she would get hot. So I pulled her hair into a ponytail and braided it. She was glad I did and so was I! I got hot just looking at it.

Man, she is growing up!
