Dr. Appts.

Every year I try to take Liz to the doctor, dentist, and optometrist before school starts. Doing it this way allows her to not miss any school b/c of doctors appts. Plus, it saves me from the hassle of waiting forever while someone goes and pull her out of class.

Anyway, on August 18th I had to take the girls to the doctor. Liz had a dental appt 1st thing that morning. Unfortunately, she had a few cavities that needed to be taken care of. The dentist gave her some laughing gas and had to numb her mouth. When we were done with that appt, we went home to have lunch until it was time to go to the pediatrician. When we got home, I told her to go brush her teeth so that she could get the rest of the glue out of her mouth. When she tried to rinse her mouth out, she couldn't exactly close her mouth b/c she was numb. As a result, the front of her t-shirt got pretty soaked. In the meantime, Jeremiah came home for lunch. When Jeremiah saw Liz, he asked her what happened to her shirt and she told him. As we proceeded to eat lunch, drinking water became a challenge for Liz. Again, she couldn't close her mouth to swallow and she made a mess all over the table and herself. After a while, we couldn't help ourselves. Jeremiah started laughing and then Liz and I started laughing too. We all bursted out laughing at the same time because she looked so funny! All of this trouble over CAVITIES!!!

This is the best smile that she could give me b/c the entire left side of her mouth was still numb.
Every since her dentist appt, she brushes her teeth 4 or 5 times a day in hopes to prevent getting anymore cavities. I think she has finally learned her lesson about brushing teeth PROPERLY!

Still smiling! Since she was still sore and couldn't open her mouth wide, I made her some chicken noodle soup and she was happy about that.

Later in the afternoon, we were off to the pediatrician. Liz went for her 9 year wellness check and Scarlett for her 4 month shots. Liz did well and Scarlett was AMAZING! Scarlett got 2 shots, 1 in each leg and only cried when she got injected. After the prick, she was good. She only cried for like 10 seconds.

My little chunky monkey! Don't you just love those thighs?! She is such a good baby :o)
