Baby Prickett Is A...

Jeremiah and I woke up this morning and headed straight to the Christmas tree to open the infamous envelope! We decided that I would open the envelope and he would pull the cards out. Originally, I wrote boy and girl on the index card. Jeremiah being Jeremiah wanted to get a second index card and draw the “male” and “female” symbols on it. Both cards have been sealed in an envelope since 12/11.

Anyway, he passed me a card to read and he kept one to read. We are pleased to inform you that Baby Prickett is a girl! We are having a baby girl next spring! We have called our parents and families and they are super excited. Below are a couple of pictures of Jeremiah and I with our index cards…in our pj’s…with dry nasty faces…straight out of bed. We were too excited for Christmas morning can you tell?! The very last picture is for fun; mostly I couldn't help myself and just had to do it :o) We have a name picked out but we are not revealing it until the press conference at Baby Prickett’s birth.

Anyway, I have to get back to Jeremiah. He was kind enough to give me a few minutes to post this entry on my blog. We have a lot of driving to do and a lot of family to see today. Needless to say, I better get going. Y’all be safe and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

3rd Baby Bump & Baby Prickett Pics

Fun Stuff

I had another doctor’s appt yesterday. Babywise, I feel just fine. I weighed in at 129 lbs! That is the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life. I have to admit that I am a little relieved that I am finally gaining weight. I haven’t worked out in days and maybe that helped to pack the weight on??? The due date is still set for 4/30 and I am at 20 weeks. My waist is 32” and Baby Prickett is 13 ounces!

We had a sonogram and we know what we are having, kind of. A few weeks ago I approached Jeremiah with another idea of mine. I asked him what he thought about us writing “boy” or “girl“ on a postcard and then give it to the doctor. After the sonogram, the doctor would circle what we are having and seal the postcard in an envelope. On Christmas day, we will open the envelope to see what we are having. Basically, that will be our Christmas gift to each other :o) He loved the idea and that is what we decided to do. So, on Christmas day we will opend the sealed envelope and find out what we are having! No worries, I will be sure to post the sex of the baby immediately!!!

Without further ado, here are pics of Baby Prickett! He/she did so well. It’s almost like he/she knew we were looking at him/her. The baby posed and turned and we were able to get some great pics.

The head is on the right and the rest of the body is on the left. The 2 cirlces on the top and bottom of the chest are the hands. The face is looking at us but the head is tilted slightly to the right.

Pretty much the same except that you can see the heart :o) Looking at the chest, the black circle to the right is the heart.

Here's a foot.

I saved the best for last. This is my favorite one. I still can't tell if it is a girl or boy. If you can figure it out, don't let us know! We want to wait until Christmas to find out. I thought this would be a fun picture to share with everyone. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

More Fun Stuff

Here are some more baby bump pictures that we took yesterday.

We took this one after we got back from the doctor. Jeremiah said that you couldn't see much because of my huge sweater. So, I changed clothes and we continued with our photo shoot!

Boring Stuff

I have not had much fun for the past week and a half. Last week I developed a sore throat and then I developed a cough Sunday night. As I stated in my last post, I have also had a couple of issues with my eye.

After a rough start to the Christmas holidays, I consulted my doctor and I am doing somewhat better now. My sore throat is gone and I’m taking something for my cough and congestion. For the next couple of days, I have to treat my eye with 2 eye drops: 1) an antibiotic, and 2) some kind of thick lubricant so that I don’t have to experience the discharge or leakage in the mornings. Needless to say, I have to wear my glasses for a couple of days instead of my contacts. It hasn’t been that bad except when I drive. The sun is SO bright and I hate not being able to wear my sunglasses :o(

Misc Stuff

I have some pictures from last weekend that I wanted to post but the baby news took priority. I’ll try to post some of those within the next couple of days. Have a great weekend everyone!

Blind & Blogging

Long story short, my left eye has been red and irritated since Sunday night and hasn't gotten better. I woke up this morning and couldn't open my left eye. It was swollen shut AND leaking with discharge. Jeremiah was kind and patient enough to help me clean it so that I could see. A few minutes later, my left eye was open and it was still red and stinging a little bit. I wanted to take a picture of it and post it but Jeremiah thought it was too gross and probably not a good idea. He's probably right but a picture is worth a thousand words! Anyway, I'm finally breaking down and going to the optometrist in the morning. When y'all get a second, please pray for me that the appt will go well :o)

Kicking Off Christmas '08

Phase 1 – get everything out of the attic
Last Friday, I decorated for Christmas just like I said I would. After Jeremiah got all of the Christmas containers out of the attic, I started opening them up so that I could get started. Guess what I found first? My reindeer antlers! I was so excited to see them again! I wear these things every year, everywhere. Come to think of it, I wonder where my Santa hat is…hmmm. Anyway, I couldn’t resist the urge to put my antlers on Jeremiah.

Obviously, he wasn't amused but I was having a great time! Doesn't his facial expression look like Ralphie in the bunny suit from A Christmas Story?! Thanks for being a good sport sweetheart :o)

Phase 2 - decorate the Christmas tree and the house

The Christmas tree is always the first to go up! Then I place a few things around the house. I think Baby Prickett slowed me down a little bit. I was moving slower than I ever have. I was getting out of breath too. BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP ME! Eventually, I got the tree decorated.

This is the top of the tree.

This is a close up of the decorations.

The finished tree! The tree is really brighter and much prettier than the pictures depict.

On a side note, I told Jeremiah that we have to go shopping for a bigger tree when the “After Christmas Sales” start. I love this tree and it has been with me for the past 6 years. This tree is 6ft tall and WAY too small for our living room. I would like to have something that is more proportionate to the size of the living room.

Phase 3 - put the Christmas lights on my car

After watching tv ALL day Friday, Jeremiah was tired. So I kindly told him that he could put the lights on my car Sat morning. Sat morning came and after we had breakfast, he went straight to work. He parked his car in the driveway and parked mine in the center of the garage. After he moved the cars around, he closed the garage door as an extra preventative measure to keep the cold out.

After a while, something told me to go outside and check on him, so I did. I found him in the garage and this is what happened:

Jeremiah: Baby, I scratched your car.
Me: Where?
Jeremiah: On the hatch. Come look at it. I owe you big. Sweetheart, I am so sorry.

This is what I saw. One vertical scratch almost 6 inches long.

Me: What happened?
Jeremiah: I was trying to adjust the roof rack and needed a tool from my car…so that I wouldn’t scratch the roof. I opened the garage door and I heard a noise. By the time I heard the noise and figured out what it was, the garage door caught your hatch and scratched it.
Me: That’s alright. At least you waited 3 months to scratch my car. Liz put a dent in the door 4 hours after we left the dealership.

That story is for another post on another day. If I wasn’t so numb with Christmas excitement, that conversation probably would have gone differently and led me to repentance. Since the scratch is on the back, I won’t ever see it and it won’t bother me so much. The dent on the other hand, is on the driver side passenger door. I see it EVERYDAY.

Rebounding from the incident.

Still working hard.

We suspect that the handle on the garage door unit is what scratched my car. Look at his face, poor guy. I think he was still feeling sick over the incident.

My poor hatch never had a chance. Look how far it opens! That red handle was determined to squeeze through that little space between the hatch and the garage door.

In his defense and in case you’re wondering, he had to have the hatch open so that he can run the lights to the converter in the trunk. After an hour or so, I had lights on my roof! We took these pictures at night to get the full effect. The lights are suppose to be white but they are LED lights; which is why the lights have a blue hue to them.

All done, yay!

We kept trying to take a picture without the flash to see the lights better. But the pictures kept coming out blurry.

That's all for now!
