Scarlett's 1st Birthday Party!

Scarlett's 1st b-day party was Sat, yay! It was so much fun and she was quite the little hostess. We ate, laughed, and had a good time with family and friends. Without further ado, enjoy the pics!

This table arrangement changed a few more times after this pic was taken. I never got a final pic. Oh well!

Scarlett, Liz and their cousins (Jacey, Taryn, & Adia).

The birthday girl with her hat on! Jeremiah had to restrain her from taking the hat off. Scarlett HATED it!

I baked her cake with my own two hands!

Hating the hat and trying to take it off.

She's a happy girl now that the hat is off.

Then it was time to sing happy birthday and have some cake. Naturally, she had to wear her hat, right? WRONG! Scarlett STILL didn't want anything to do with hat.

We took the hat off and she was a happy girl again! BTW, Jeremiah somehow managed to blow out the candle from the other end of the table! I wished I got it on video but I didn't. It was so funny!

My mother was kind enough to serve the cake. She also cleaned the kitchen AND cleaned Scarlett after we had cake. Thank you mommy!

I was so impressed with my baby girl! Scarlett had proper manners and didn't make a huge mess with her cake. She ate it just like she was suppose to and didn't play with her cake once! She didn't wipe it over her face nor did she get it in her hair. Well, she got a little in her hair but it wasn't a big deal. Cleaning her up was a minimal task!

Then mommy had to feed Scarlett some cake.

Then Scarlett had to feed Grand Pa Pa some cake.

Then my mother had to feed me some cake! My mother cut me a piece of cake and I placed it on the counter because I couldn't eat it at that moment. 2 minutes later when I was ready to eat it, it was gone! This was the ONLY bite that I had of the b-day cake. I don't know who took my cake but as soon as I find out who it was, they are going to hear ALL about it!!!

Scarlett was in a giving mood and decided to give me some of her cake.

Then she wanted to feed daddy and daddy ate her hand!

We sure love this baby girl :o)

Opening gifts!

Opening more gifts!

Making her rounds and checking on her guests.

After everyone left, we hung out with Scarlett and basked in her happiness. I certainly hope she knows how much we love her. Happy birthday baby girl :o)

Happy 1st Birthday Scarlett!

On April 14, 2009...at 1:46AM...Scarlett Rose Prickett was born! My darling baby girl turned 1 year old today!

The 1st order of business was to go to Sears to have her free pictures taken. After falling in love with the pics, we decided that we wanted more than the free pics and purchased the cd. Here are a few of the pics...

I loved the purple chair but I hated the wrinkled backdrop. Jeremiah is trying to convince me that it is providing texture...WHATEVER! That backdrop is wrinkled!!!

I'm not sure how I feel about the "Scarlett".

Later in the evening, we went outside to take a few pics of the b-day girl before dinner!

Miss. Scarlett received a cookie and the traditional b-day song after dinner!

Presenting her cookie while singing happy birthday. She was loving every bit of it :o)

She preferred to play with her cookie than to eat it.

See the intensity on her face? She was trying with ALL of her might to mash that cookie into as many pieces as possible! My OCD quickly took over and I put an end to the cookie. I couldn't save her or the high chair. However, I stopped her in time before the floor became a complete mess. I'm glad that crisis was diverted!

Today was a wonderful day! I certainly hope Scarlett had a great day. I hope she knows how much we love her and how much we are glad that she is a part of our family. Literally, I ask myself everyday "what did I do to deserve such a good baby?" Now I know. Remember when she was born and she had a few complications? Personally, I think I endured that trial extremely well. Because our God is a just God, I'm sure that He also knows that I endured that trial well. As a result, I think the Lord blessed me with a good, sweet, kind, energized, and beautiful baby. I don't know how much longer she will be "good". But for now, I will continue enjoying being her mother :o)

I love you Scarlett and I hope the next year is just as fun and exciting as your 1st!!!

Botanical Gardens & Misc. Pics

Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
We spent the Saturday before Easter at Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. It was partly cloudy most of the day but the weather was still nice. We took a few pics at home before we headed out. Liz spent the weekend in MO so that is why she's not in the pics. Anyway, Scarlett is growing so fast. She's walking all over the place and getting faster everyday. She's also taking less naps during the day. As a result, I don't have too much time to blog because I'm trying to keep her entertained, fed, dry, happy...blah, blah, blah, blah. She will turn 1 year old on Wed and I am having her party next Sat. More than likely, I probably won't have time to blog again until next week.

Look at her in her big girl clothes :o)

Jeremiah LOVES to play "Let's Scare Mommy". Today's objective, throw Scarlett into the air as high as possible. I never know about their antics until it's too late. The worse part about it, Scarlett loves it too!

All set and ready to go!

3/4 of the Prickett's.

She can smile on cue like no other baby can! I think I may frame this one...maybe.

Scarlett was just smiling and giggling away! Her laughter was making me laugh!

We were walking on a path and this HUGE tree trunk was in our way. Jeremiah decided to introduce Scarlett to off-roading!!! For a second, I really thought he was going to go over it. After deciding not to die by my hands, he eventually went around the tree.

Admiring nature. I love seeing her explore new things.

She has 6 teeth and 1 more is coming in! I never know she is teething until her teeth are in. She NEVER shows ANY sign of discomfort. She drools about a day or two and that's it.

Hanging out with daddy. J loves his girls :o)

"Let's Scare Mommy: The Sequel". "Look mommy! Scarlett is falling off my shoulders!!!" Seriously, it's a wonder I let him live.

Still enjoying God's nature. She is so stinkin' pleasant!

We were on our way back to the car and Scarlett fell asleep. She bumped her head on the stroller and woke herself up. She was not amused :o(

After we left, we went to Mimi's for lunch/dinner. Then it was off to Lowe's and we headed home. We watched a movie and called it a night. Saturday was a good day :o)

Misc. Pics
A week or two ago, Jeremiah laid Scarlett next to me before he went to work. After I woke up to take Liz to school, I found Scarlett like this...

...sleeping extremely hard! It was hilarious!

Then I pulled the covers back and found her in this position! Legs crossed, striking a pose, and getting some serious sleep!

Since the day Scarlett was born, every time I fed her, I would fold her arms and say "let's bless our food". Earlier this week, I said "let's bless our food" and she folded her arms. I was so proud of her!!!

I accidentally snapped this pic after the previous one. I'm glad I did. I think I busted her talking to the angels :o)

One of my mother's bff passed away and we attended the funeral on Wed. Scarlett was dressed so pretty and I wanted a pic of her. She wasn't interested and preferred a meal.

Let me introduce you to the "growl". For several weeks now, Scarlett has learn to communicate a little differently. Whenever she is hungry, she will stop what she is doing...find me wherever I am...pull on my leg...and start growling. Jeremiah said she learned that from me. I don't know what's he talking about. Seriously, why do I keep him around?! Now, for your viewing pleasure...the GROWL!

That's all for now. Y'all have a great weekend and I'll try to post again as soon as I can...providing that my Prickett's give me a break :o)
