3rd & Final Baby Shower

Originally, Maria (my sis), my mom & Diana (j's sis) were suppose to throw me a baby shower on 4/18/09. Since my due dates were 4/15 or 4/30, I wanted to have it in Feb or March just in case Scarlett arrived on 4/15. Scarlett arrived on 4/14...WITH a few complications. Needless to say, the shower had to be rescheduled.

Anyway, on 6/27 the 3rd & final baby shower took place. Unfortunately, Diana is in the process of moving and was unable to help as much as she would have liked to. So, Maria and mom did all of the work. However, Diana watched Scarlett for a few minutes while I got dressed. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Father's Day 2009

Like most of you, we started Father's Day by going to church. Liz and I made Jeremiah home-made cards and he loved them! Jeremiah is extremely nostalgic so he appreciated something that we actually made.

Earlier in the week I asked Jeremiah what he wanted me to cook for Father's Day and requested cornbread, meatloaf, & green beans. So, that's what we had for dinner. We took naps, I cooked, we ate, and Liz cleaned up the kitchen.

Here are some pictures that we took right after we got home from church. It was Scarlett's debut at church and she did really well! Unfortunately, by the time that we got home she was tired and ready for a nap. Bless her heart, she did the best that she could while we took pictures.

I took this picture several times and this is as good as it got!

Scarlett is sooooo done. She's still cute though :o)

Liz is still obsessing over Scarlett. Jeremiah and I are having a blast. Poor Scarlett is just unhappy and probably ready to get out of that dress.

Daddy and his girls!

I have been waiting for Scarlett's head to grow so that she could start wearing some of her headbands. Now that her head is big enough to fit them, she HATES them! I've waited all this time and she hates them! I think baby headbands are adorable and I LOVE them! So, we went back inside, on went the headband, and I got my pictures :o)

Later in the evening and after a much needed nap, Scarlett was refreshed and in a better mood. So here is Scarlett wearing a onesie that Jason (J's bro) made when he was here for Kari's graduation. This is the "daddy" onesie. Needless to say, Scarlett had to wear it on Father's Day! It reads "I heart daddy!" The "mommy" onsie is equally cute.

Each onsie is fully equipped with the Prickett family crest...the yellow P-Star!

6 Pricks For Baby Prickett

Scarlett had her vaccinations and blood drawn today and it was not pretty. She started out strong but it ended miserably. She was poked 6 times today! She took her vacciantions like a champ!! After the 1st shot, she didn't even cry. After the 2nd one she cried for a few seconds but it was no big deal. Then came the 3rd one and she only cried for like 5 seconds. I was so proud of her!!!

And then it happened. We were sent across the street to have her blood drawn. The nurse tied the rubber thing around her arm and Scarlett was not happy. She started screaming and crying and everything I tried would not comfort her. The nurse tried to find a vein in Scarlett's arm but her veins were too small. That was poke #4. Poke # 5 was in her right foot. After the arm didn't work out, the nurse went for the foot and that's where most of the blood came from. The screaming and crying continued because the nurse had to squeez Scarlett's foot to get the blood out. When the right foot ran out of blood, the nurse had to draw blood from Scarlett's left middle finger. That was poke #6.

Oh the agony!!! It was so painful to watch Scarlett kick, sream, and cry. She has NEVER been so mad and upset and miserable. All is well now and she is resting comfortably. Here are a couple of pics that I took after I got home. Look at all of her bandages :o(

Fussy and ready for a nap...

...but I was determined to get a picture with a smile. Shortly after this pic, she went to sleep...

Congrats Kari - Graduation 2009!

Last Saturday Kari (my sister-in-law) graduated from high school. Jason (my bro-in-law) and his girlfriend Angela flew in from Utah for the ceremony. My sister Maria was kind enough to babysit Liz and Scarlett while Jeremiah and I were gone. Thanks a million Ria! Maria loves kids and kids love Maria. I never worried once. I came home and Scarlett did just fine w/o me. I have such a great baby! I hope it continues.

I managed to find some clothes that I could squeeze into. FYI, I have 14 lbs to lose before I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I haven't even exercised yet and the weight just keeps falling off!!! What a blessing! Oh yeah, I am also wearing my wedding ring again. I forced it on the night I went to the hospital to have Scarlett. It was still too tight but I wanted it. For a month after Scarlett was born, I went back to my substitute band. Then one day, I tried on my wedding ring and it fit! But I digress.

Anyway, here are some pics after the ceremony. Congratulations Kari!

The graduate!

Jeremiah goofing off...

Me yelling at Jeremiah for goofing off...

FINALLY, I get a decent picture!

Pam, Jason, Angela, me, Jeremiah and of course Kari.

Kari started compaining that her feet were hurting. I can't blame her. You should have seen the heels she wore. After begging relentlessly, Jeremiah and Jason agreed to carry her to the car.
Pam was in the background saying that this wasn't going to last.

Off they go! By the way, Pam was right. They made it across the green and put Kari down at the sidewalk about 20 ft from where they are standing.
