Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! We started out yesterday by going to Glen Rose to see Jeremiah's grandmother. EVERYONE goes to her house for lunch every year. Lunch is served at noon and people start clearing out by 2pm to go do their own thing. After we left, Jeremiah wanted to stop by his cousin's house so we did. Then, it was off to Mamma Keeton's house! I ate, and ate, and ate, and ate. I was so full I could not move.
Before, during, and after dinner, we watched the Cowboys game. At one point we played Scrabble and Boggle. That was so much fun. I was so full that I wasn't keeping accurate scores during Scrabble. I thought I was going to get kicked out of the family for a second! For crying out loud...it's just Scrabble!! Berry, Maria, & Jeremiah kept going toe to toe in Scrabble...they are the brainiacs in the family.
Once again, mamma out did herself this year with dinner. My dad helped her out as usual. After dinner, Maria did the dishes and I helped her. Well, I helped put some of the food away...I kept running back and forth to the Scrabble game. Berry was busy entertaining herself with my baby bump...all afternoon...and all evening. She was cute and was having fun so I let her goo goo and gaga all she wanted.
Speaking of baby bump, I felt Baby Prickett move quite a bit yesterday! It wasn't a kick or an elbow, it felt more like a piece of mass was moving around. I think the baby wanted to get out and see what all of the excitement was! I told Jeremiah about it and we had a tender moment over Baby Prickett's progress.
Today brings on another level of excitement. I'm sending Jeremiah into the attic to retrieve Christmas!!! I am so excited I can't stand it! My favorite part of Christmas is the Christmas tree. My goal is to have everything setup before the day is over so that I can enjoy it as long as I can before the holidays are over.
I need to run b/c I have other things to do. I just realized that I have been blogging WAY longer than I intended. What a surprise?!
Y'all take care, be safe, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

2nd Baby Bump
I went to the doctor last week and I have some awesome news! I am finally gaining weight, yay me!! I weighed in at 121.6 pounds. The only reason why I was slightly worried was b/c I’ve been doing some research and I’ve been told that weight gain is a normal part of pregnancy. So to me...in my mind...if I am not gaining weight, something abnormal must be going on. It doesn’t help that my normal metabolism is at light speed. I thought that my metabolism would’ve slowed down b/c I was pregnant. I guess not. Maybe my fast metabolism was slowing down my weight gain??? Does any of this make sense? Anyway, no more worries…for now.
Baby Prickett’s heartbeat is still at 150 bpm, fabulous! As usual, Jeremiah went with me to the doctor. Upon leaving the examination room, we looked at each other and got a little giddy over Baby Prickett’s heartbeat. We are so silly! I guess having a baby will do that to you.

Moving right along, another doctor’s appt means it’s time for more monthly baby bump photos! By the way, I'm at 16 weeks and my waist is measuring at 29.5”. At the end of our appt, Baby Prickett and I got a clean bill of health from the doctor. Oh, we are still on target to find out the sex of the baby sometime before Christmas. Now, for the moment that you’ve been waiting for. Enjoy the pics!!

One more thing, I’m still reminiscing about my encounter with Darren Woodson. Here’s my last pic that I will post of him…maybe :o) Ahhh, I love that smile!!

The Temple, A Trip To France, & A Celebrity… What A Day!!!
Mr. Man had the day off from work today because it was Veterans Day. Last night we decided to go to the temple this morning and we did. As usual, both of us were edified and feeling pretty spiritual after our endowment session. As you know, the temple has that effect on you :o)
Anyway, once we left the temple we flew to France. Well, maybe it wasn’t exactly France but it was close.
You see, Jeremiah LOVES la Madeleine. When we first started dating, he made it very clear that la Madeleine is one of the few restuarants that can appease his sensitive palette. It has been a tradition (that he established and I have come to love) that we go to la Madeleine at Preston and Forest for lunch after we attend the temple. We are usually starving when we leave the temple so we “fly” to la Madeleine (France) so that we can eat asap!
We get to la Madeleine and upon walking in the door, there was a couple that was walking in right before us. The gentleman was kind enough to hold the door open for Jeremiah and I. When he turned around to do this, he smiled and I instantly recognized his 1000 watt smile! Then the following conversation happened:
Me (whispering to Jeremiah) “I think that is Darren Woodson”!
Jeremiah (whispering back to me): Who is Darren Woodson?
Me: WHAT?! You don’t know who Darren Woodson is?! He used to play for the Dallas Cowboys in their 1990’s super bowl days.
Jeremiah: Baby, I wouldn’t know that man in a crowd of people. You know I don’t know anything about sports!!
In the meantime, I’m trying to order my food while simultaneously trying to stalk who I think is one of the NFL’s best safeties of all time.
Me: I have to find out if that is him. Should I approach him? I can’t interrupt the man’s lunch.
Jeremiah: Baby, do whatever you want to do.
PERMISSION GRANTED!
Me: I can’t take it anymore. I’m going to approach him.
So I trot my happy little self to the front of the line where Darren was and this is what happens:
Me: Excuse me sir, has anyone ever told you that you look just like Darren Woodson?
Darren (with his 1000 watt smile): Yeah, I get that a lot. Hi, I’m Darren. (He extends his hand to shake mine). What’s your name?
Me (with my 1000 watt smile): Gwen
Darren: Nice to meet you Gwen.
Me: I knew that was you! That’s my husband Jeremiah (as I pointed to J who was 2 customers behind Darren)
The reason why I was so excited about meeting Darren is b/c I had the BIGGEST crush on him back in the day. He always appeared to be a great guy. He never had anything negative to say. He had the perfect physique. Have I mentioned his smile?! He always appeared to be a gentleman. He just looked like a genuinely nice guy. I am so glad that he was everything that I imagined he would be.
Anyway, we exchanged a few more pleasantries, wished each other a good day, and I joined Jeremiah back in line and continued to have a very nice lunch in France with my husband :o)

On another note, I have a dr's appt in the morning so I better get to bed. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Take care everyone!

Just for grins, here's a picture of Darren...

Spooky Photo Pix
1st
Here are some pics of Liz from the day before Halloween. Liz was having a “parade of pumpkins” at school on Halloween and wanted to submit a pumpkin. The pumpkins had to be decorated because carved pumpkins were not allowed and against the rules. She drew on the pumpkin, I made the bow, and J hot glued the bow to the pumpkin.

I read about a really cool trick in a Halloween magazine. If you cover your camera’s flash with a colored post-it note, any photos taken with the flash will take on the hue of the paper.

I thought I would test this theory. I took pictures of Liz and the pumpkin that she decorated using this technique. I wanted to take pics of us trick-or-treating using this spooky photo trick but I really didn’t want to keep up with post-it notes while we were trick-or-treating. So, we took these pics in our living room.
Here's the turquoise post-it.
Lime green post-it. Sorry it's out of focus.
Purple post-it.
Here's a pic without the crazy post-it notes.
